Modernization of Kvadrat ADMS

Modernization of ADMS KUB (KVADRAT) to the level KVADRAT-MA




This modernization makes it possible to obtain a practically new, digital complex using a small part of the old nodes and blocks. In fact, when upgrading from the old complex, only the original parts of the antenna-waveguide systems, the housing of the antenna columns, the mechanical parts of the drive systems, and the terminal blocks of the transmitters are used. All equipment for processing and control of radar stations was replaced with a new, digital one. New digital systems for generating, receiving and processing radar signals make it possible to significantly simplify the procedure for setting up and adjusting station equipment. A built-in diagnostic system has been introduced, which constantly monitors the performance of units and blocks. A system for simulating a radar environment has been introduced, which allows the commander to train operators without switching on drive systems and going on the air.

Modernization of SURN to the level of 1S91-MA

The basic tracked chassis was replaced with the MZKT-692230 body wheeled chassis.

A chassis leveling system based on hydraulic supports was introduced.

The gas turbine generator set was replaced with a diesel one, with an additional standby generator powered by the internal combustion engine of the chassis.

A digital control and monitoring system for the power supply system was introduced.

The antenna column leveling control system has been modernized, new optical sensors for roll, frame angular position and a digital control system are used.

The control compartment is equipped with workstations based on computers and specially designed control panels.

Electronic units and components located in the basic tracked vehicle are not used during the upgrade.

Reconnaissance and target designation station СРЦ 1С11

The original antenna-waveguide system is used.

The receiving path is replaced by a solid-state microwave receiver, a digital synthesizer and a new digital-controlled IF amplifier path.

The original power path of the transmitters is used. A new digital AFCM system has been introduced; from the old one, only the reducer of the executive part on magnetrons is used.

The new synchronization and control system, and the signal processing unit, which digitizes on the IF, digital filtering, noise protection and the formation of the output digital stream of radar information are placed in the antenna column.

The original rotary contact device is used, however only power and coaxial connectors are used in it. More than 100 signal rings are not used, all control is formed by a synchronization unit located in the antenna column.

Guidance station SN 1S31:

The original antenna-waveguide system is used.

The receiving path is replaced by a 4-channel solid-state microwave receiver, a digital synthesizer and an IF amplifier placed in the upper container.

Added 2 additional antennas and corresponding channels of receivers of the system of protection against active noise interference.

The original power path of the transmitter is used. A new digital AFCM system has been introduced; from the old one, only the reducer of the executive part on magnetrons is used.

The illumination channel uses the original terminal block and a high-voltage rectifier, the master oscillator is replaced by a digital synthesizer and a solid-state amplifier.

The synchronization and control system and the signal processing unit, which digitizes on the IF, digital filtering, noise protection and the formation of the output digital stream of radar information are placed in the upper container.

Mirror swing mechanisms have been upgraded, powder clutches are no longer used. High-speed reversible valve electric motors and digital control system are used.

The angular and azimuth drives have been deeply modernized, parts of the original gearboxes, new optical angle sensors and a digital control system are used.

The television-optical system was replaced with a new one, with a two-field optical channel and a thermal imager. A high-speed digitizer and specially developed software are used to ensure high definition and minimum display delay.

The digital stream of radar and television information is transmitted to workplaces via a fiber-optic channel.

Modernization of the SPU to the level of 2P25-MA When upgrading the SPU 2P25 from the original product, only the body of the artillery unit and beams with guides for missiles are used. The equipment of the product is completely replaced with a new, digital one. The MZKT-692230 base is used as a chassis. A hybrid inverter power system is used. Since the main operating time of the SPU operates in standby mode with low power consumption, the load on the diesel generator set is uneven, and most of the time it is not loaded, which leads to a reduction in the service life of the diesel unit. In our case, the main source of energy is a battery pack with a system of DC-to-AC converters with a frequency of 50 Hz for the main systems and 400 Hz for the launch control system and 3M9 products. The batteries are automatically charged from an external industrial network, a standard low-power diesel generator set, or from the chassis engine. The power system is controlled by an intelligent controller that automatically switches power supplies and, if necessary, starts and stops the diesel generator, The drive system was replaced with a new one, based on valve motors with a digital control system. A new microprocessor-controlled launch control system has been applied. The new control unit for the radio homing head is based on a digital synthesizer with an electronic change of letter frequencies. The control and communication system with the SURN 1S91-MA allows the commander of the SURN to control and monitor all the SPU systems from the workplace of the commander, which allows, after deployment, to use the SPU autonomously, without a crew. To carry out work on loading and unloading the SPU, both the original 2T7 transport-loading vehicle and the new TZM 2T7MA developed by our company can be used.

ТЗМ 2Т7МА is intended for:


loading and unloading the self-propelled launcher 2P25-MA (SPU) with 3M9 products of all modifications;

placement, transportation and temporary storage of 3M9 products of all modifications (up to 6 pieces at a time), including in K5PA containers, carrying out various loading and unloading operations with products, packages and components.

The TZM offered for delivery has a universal base platform and crane equipment, allowing it to be used with minimal modifications to work with 5V27 SAM products of the "Pechora" type.
